Our Therapy How We Can Help

Bullying

Bullying is being mean to another child over and over again.

Children who are bullied have a hard time standing up for themselves. They think the child who bullies them is more powerful than they are.

Self Harming

Children can be particularly vulnerable at times of transition.

When any emotional difficulties they may be experiencing are compounded by changes which they may find stressful or frightening.

Aggression

Teenagers often end up aggressive, both verbally and physically.

Aggression often builds up due to many reasons such as low self-esteem, bullying, peer pressure, uncooperative parents, etc.

Confidence

Parents are often first alerted to low self-esteem signs in their children when their child mentions falling out with their peers at school.

Or maybe your child’s teacher mentions that your child has become withdrawn or stopped socialising with particular friends.

If you feel your child is showing signs that he/she may be lacking confidence then contact one of our counsellors now.

Behaviour

If you notice your child is showing one or more of the following behaviours then please get in touch immediately, so that we can help.

  • Hitting, slapping, fighting
  • Shouting & screaming
  • Self harming, head banging
  • Punching or kicking
  • Being un-cooperative
  • Problems at home or school

Anxiety

It is normal for children to be a little worried at home or at school, but not normal when that worry leads to irrational worry, fear and panic.

When this happens a child withdraws from normal life, fears going to school and just wants to hide in their room.

If your child is experiencing anxiety then call us today so that one of our counsellors can work with your child to help relieve their anxious thoughts & behaviour.

Bullying & Cyberbullying

  • Teasing
  • Talking about hurting someone
  • Spreading rumours
  • Leaving children out on purpose
  • Attacking someone or yelling at them
If you think that your child is feeling powerless, unpopular and alone through bullying then contact us straight away. We can help.

Self Harm

People engage in self-harming behaviours alone, parents may not be aware that this problem exists.
They can be particularly vulnerable at times of transition, when any emotional difficulties are compounded by stressful or frightening changes.
If you feel your child is showing signs that he/she may be self-harming or having suicidal thoughts then contact one of our counsellors straight away.

Aggression

When children are unhappy they can begin to ‘act out’ in an aggressive manner. They may want to talk about how they feel, but just don’t know how. This is where we come in! We are highly trained to talk to your child. We speak to them calmly & professionally to help them talk about what is upsetting them.
